Get Steady
Hello, I'm Matt Hayden
Dizziness can make ordinary things feel risky, from the stairs to the supermarket. I've worked with dizziness and balance problems since 2011, and through Get Steady I treat people in their own homes around Worthing.
My career
Neurology first, then balance.
Qualified as a physiotherapist
I graduated in physiotherapy from the University of Brighton and went on to specialise in neurology.
Community Neuro Rehab Team, Worthing
I joined Worthing's NHS Community Neuro Rehab Team, working with people with neurological conditions in the community, and I still work there.
First trained in vestibular rehabilitation
Since then I've used and developed these skills in my NHS neuro rehab role and privately.
Clinical Lead for physiotherapy
I became the team's Clinical Lead, and I now also teach vestibular rehabilitation to physiotherapists across Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.
King's College London
I completed Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Competency Based Course, an intensive six days on applying the latest research to vestibular and balance rehab. It was taught by Professor Richard Clendaniel (Duke University), Professor Michael Schubert (Johns Hopkins University), Dr Dara Meldrum (Trinity College Dublin) and Dr David Herdman (King's College London).
Health and Care Professions Council
Registered physiotherapist, registration number PH65027.
Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
Member (MCSP).
ACPIVR
Member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists with an Interest in Vestibular Rehabilitation. I attend its conference every year.

Matt has such a wealth of knowledge and an incredibly thorough but gentle approach to both assessment and treatment. He has such a calm and thoughtful manner and I couldn't have asked for better care.

Talk it through first
The first phone call is free. Tell me what's been happening and I'll tell you whether vestibular rehab is likely to help, before you book anything.
